Casetify Launches ‘Evangelion’ Collection with AirPods Cases in Robot Designs

Casetify is introducing a fresh line of accessories designed for Apple devices, inspired by Neon Genesis Evangelion. The collection, known as “Project-CSTF: Protection from Impact,” offers a range of cases that allow you to display your affection for the highly praised anime series from the mid-90s on your iPhone, AirPods, or Apple Watch.

The likely highlight of the range is the limited edition AirPods Pro case based on Evangelion’s Unit-01, which turns your Apple headphone case into a purple mecha head. Although it looks too big and awkward to slip into a pocket, Casetify says the outer case is for “decorative purposes and not for hard knocks, scratches, or heavy use.” (In other words, it’s intended more for a desktop display than for everyday protection.) However, it also appears to include a standard on-the-go AirPods case (including the “EVA-01” logo) that fits inside the Unit-01 head . . The Test Type-01 case is available in AirPods Pro / AirPods 2 versions and retails for $122 – nearly half the price of Apple’s latest wireless headphones.

The lineup also includes MagSafe-compatible iPhone cases featuring Evangelion mechs (and $52 MagSafe chargers shaped like the Umbilical Cables line) and iPhone cases featuring aviator characters. You can even order a limited-edition $122 wireless charging dock (including a MagSafe hub cable) that looks like the anime series ejector. Finally, the series includes Apple Watch bands with the series logo.

The accessories will officially arrive on July 20th at midnight PT. In the meantime, you can join the waiting list to order new products. Meanwhile, those near Tokyo can visit the outdoor exhibition from the 20th to the 25th. July (11:00 AM – 7:00 PM JST) at Shinjuku Kabukicho Cine City Square.
